Two Week Recap: 17.01 - 29.01.17
This Weekly Recap is a summary of the last two weeks because I was a bad blogger and didn't have time to myself, and for that I apologise. The past two weeks included some time at home, yet another trip to Finland, some more family time and great sunsets.
The week started with some time at home in Plymouth. We got a record player for the house finally so we were soaking in the pleasure of knowing we can finally begin to listen to our growing record collection.
We also celebrated Kieran's birthday, so I placed the camera to the side for a couple days and enjoyed the few moments we had together before I would be off traveling again. After spending a brief amount of time at home, I headed off to the bus which would take me to Gatwick Aiport, where I would board my flight to Finland once more.
I may have also treated myself to something sweet, which I renamed "Diabetes in a Cup".
When I arrived in Finland, I went straight to Ville and Yasmine's and crashed. To say I was exhausted is an understatement.
The very next morning I had a photo shoot with some good friends of mine. I love when my job consists of hanging out with friends and taking photos. You'll see more from this shoot on the blog over the next couple of days.
We then headed off to have a proper catchup over coffee in possibly my new favourite coffee spot in Helsinki. The name of the cafe is Story and it is located on the top floor of Kamppi in central Helsinki.
From there, I wandered through the streets of Helsinki to go to my Mum's 50th birthday party. We saw lots of extended family we hadn't seen for years and it was so great to see my Mum so happy to have us all there.
The following day I ended up spending quite a bit of time with my sister Salla who was visiting Finland with her family from the states. Unfortunately, their youngest baby ended up having to be admitted into hospital for a few nights due to her asthma problems. Although it was in a hospital room, we still enjoyed spending some quality time together.
Over the next few days the celebrations of my Mum's 50th continued. We enjoyed family time catching up and even had all the siblings in one room together for the first time in about 8 years. We went ice skating, had dinner as a family and walked around Helsinki.
We even went to a chocolate store with my sister, which she seemed quite happy about. ;)
And on one of my final nights in Finland, there was a breathtaking sunset too.
I then headed off to Israel for a few days for a work trip. It was a very quick 36 hour trip but it was good to see some old friends as well as colleagues, even though the majority of the trip was all work and no play so I didn't get very many photos.
When I got home, I had a few days off so I was able to spend some quality time with Kieran and Echo. We also started an Instagram for Echo so if you feel like following a cat account, you can find him at @echolikesfish.
And now it's back to the routine work life. Wow that's been an intense few weeks. Hope you enjoyed reading about it ;) x
