Weekly Recap: 17.12 - 26.12.2016
I'm introducing a new segment onto this little corner of the Internet called 'Weekly Recaps'. From now on, once a week I will begin posting photo diaries of what I have been up to that week with some pondering's from that week.
To begin these weekly pieces, I am going to begin with pictures from the last two weeks.
On December 17th, I left Plymouth with Kieran to head off to the north of the U.K. for a couple of days. Although Kieran ended up being ill for the entire trip, it was still a great experience to just get away from our regular surroundings and breathe some new air after an incredibly busy few months.
We wandered through the city and found some incredible architectural gems as well as getting to meet some good friends of mine over the course of three days.
I even got to go to see one of my friends from work play a reunion gig with a band he used to be a part of, "The Proud Ones".
Newcastle is an interesting city and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. There's such a culture of community, at least from what I could tell. People take pride in being hospitable. Everyone was incredibly kind and generous to us. And it was also lovely to reconnect with people who I hadn't seen in a while. We will be back for sure.
From there, I flew to Finland to spend Christmas with my family.
Christmas was lovely. It was such a time of rest, being around family, staying cozy and comfortable. We had a Christmas ham and played games for pretty much an entire day. I cannot even begin to explain how valuable this time of family was to me.
We even took a visit to my Grandpa's grave on Christmas Day.
As we all live fairly far apart, the little time we get to spend together really is precious. I feel that I can be completely myself with my siblings and that brings a sense of relief with it. It's so important to catch up with the ones you love.
I'm now looking forward to spending a few more days with my parents and siblings, then heading home, having a quiet day in bed before heading back to the regular routine at the office.
Hope your Christmas season was wonderful, and you feel strong and ready to face the New Year.
